The Amarillo Town Club cares about the Amarillo community. We offer our facilities, services, time and financial support to many local organizations, programs and charities.
In addition to high school athletic programs, swim organizations, clubs and the arts, we partner with the Maverick Boys and Girls Club and the Special Olympics swim team during the summer.
The ATC has a long-standing relationship with the Maverick Boys and Girls Club of Amarillo & Canyon. Every summer, for four hours a day, five days a week, the Maverick Club brings their elementary students to the ATC pools to swim. From kindergarten to sixth grade, each class receives free swim lessons every week. Our goal at the ATC is to help reduce the number of drownings in our community and to also provide the children with a fun aquatics experience to add to the Maverick’s summer kids program.
The ATC also offers Special Olympics Texas free access to lanes in our lap pool for team swimming practice each summer, in preparation for their annual swim meet. Our members are supportive of the Special Olympics and go out of their way to accommodate and encourage the team.
This Saturday, August 6, we are proud to host their annual swim meet. We invite you to join us from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at our Cornell Aquatics Center in cheering on these Special Olympics athletes to victory!
The Amarillo community is important to the ATC and it is our mission to partner with area organizations to encourage safety, exercise and fun. To learn more about the Amarillo Town Club’s community involvement, contact us today.
